A lot of students stayed back at school for extra hour to do art and science stuffs. We had regular meets where students did paintings, paper crafts, made science projects and had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the work.

Almost all the things around us is three dimensional in nature. Yet, we teach shapes drawing 2D figures on white boards. Not in my class though!!!

After the completion of fellowship I had a huge messy collection of stationery I brought back with me. I had scissors, colors, glues, pencils, brushes, and what not!! Since I joined Karkhana a month after the end of fellowship I didn't have a chance to sort the mess out.

There are many "Laxmi Prasad Devkota"s and "Parijat"s in our school. There also are great journalists and artists in the making. All great poets, story writers, journalists and painters start as a novice and need a conducive environment to thrive.  A wall-magazine is a great platform for such aspiring artists to showcase their talent at school.

The Peg Board: From Prototype to Final Product

The peg board is one of the attractions in Makerspace at iHub.  Even among the latest technological advancements like 3D printer and Laser cutter the old hand-tools do not look out of place. Instead, the room looks vibrant with the colorful tools of different shapes and sizes displayed neatly on the whiteboard .

I think there are two very important skills in learning: imagination and observation. I always encouraged my students to draw and paint. Sometimes I asked them to copy from what I made or from a painting and sometimes I made them use their own imagination to draw.
